Kerry Records is pleased to once again
present Ken O' Malley in concert at the Celtic Arts Center,
Studio City. This intimate theater is the perfect setting
for Dublin-born and raised Ken O' Malley who is perhaps the
finest Irish Folk Singer/songwriter in the United States today.
He has performed with the Chieftains, Mary Black, Paul Brady,
The Wolf Tones and many more and has led his well-known band,
The Twilight Lords, in two recordings, The White Seahorse
and Women of Ireland. He is a gifted composer and was recently
commissioned by Turner Pictures to compose an original song
for the CD accompanying the movie Gods and Generals, the sequel
to Gettysburg. This song, The Roses and The Rye, was released
to coincide with the DVD and video release of Gods and Generals
in August 2003. He sang in the Paramount Pictures movie Patriot
Games and coached Irish Actor Pierce Brosnan for his singing
debut in the movie Evelyn. Most recently Ken recorded the
17th century Irish ballad Eamon an Chnoic (Ned of the Hill)
for National Geographic's CD recording 'Romance around the
World' a collection of twelve international love songs. He
is the musical director of the Celtic Arts Center in Los Angeles.
"Brilliant, passionate vocalist." Dara Records, NYC, 2002
"The
Voice" (of Ken O' Malley), as many on the local scene
refer to it, is as strong and emotional an instrument as any
on LA's Celtic scene. Its power and tone are...striking and
when he cuts loose, one senses why such comments as "finest
Irish singer in the country" are becoming common.....he
continues to get better and better." Dave Soyars, The
Irish Herald, April 2003
(Ken O' Malley in Concert with Kathleen
Keane, March 1, 2003 for Kerry Records).
